Moving Images and Sound

The synthesis of moving images and sound has progressed since the birth of video by identifying the contrasts between Avant-Garde and experimental cinema. Female filmmakers from America are further ahead than female filmmakers from Canada. There is a difference in institutions between Avant-Garde and modern art. Canadian Modernisms formed the relationship between high art and mass culture. There is a change in Canadian filmmakers who are female. Their difference is not linear. It is cyclical and goes through phases.

The audio media innovations that have had significant developments in musical or sound technologies are the video camera, the first computer, a vinyl disc player, cellphone, television, mp3 player, VHS player, radio wavelengths, printing press, and the creation of the alphabet.

The three cages that we construct and organize into different sounds in our daily lives are the centrality of sound about space. Secondly, the attention to sound focuses on site-specific relationships with the city and with listening. Thirdly the article concludes by confirming the need for an aesthetic reflection that considers the implications of these profound transformations. However, that is yet another problematic cage to still be examined.
